Job summary

EMERY SAPP & SONS is seeking an Asphalt Mill Operator to safely operate milling equipment, remove pavement to specified depths, and prepare surfaces for new asphalt. You will coordinate with milling, trucking, and paving crews to keep projects on schedule and within specifications.

The role requires experience with asphalt milling machines, strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of grades and elevations, and the ability to work in a team while maintaining a safe site.

Qualifications

• Experience operating asphalt milling machines is required.
• Heavy equipment operating experience is required.
• Understanding of asphalt paving operations, grades, and elevations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt milling machines to remove pavement at specified depths and widths.
• Monitor and maintain proper grade, slope, and milling patterns.
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on milling equipment.
• Inspect and replace milling teeth as needed.
• Coordinate with truck drivers and ground personnel during milling operations.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety requirements.
• Identify and report equipment issues requiring repair.
• Maintain production records and meet project schedules.
