Job summary

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and AWS symbols, setting up weld equipment per WPS, and producing welds meeting code and quality standards, while adhering to safety procedures and ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of aerospace welding experience.
• Strong understanding of fusion welding procedures & processes.
• Experience with aerospace materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols.
• Ability to produce welds that pass visual inspection and destructive tests.
• Ability to use tape measures, squares, rules and dial calipers.
• Basic math skills; conversions and calculations.
• Knowledge of welding machines and setup.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• ITAR compliance: U.S. person required.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision.
• Interprets complex blueprints, manufacturing drawings and written work instructions, and AWS welding symbols.
• Sets up welding equipment in accordance with the Weld Process Specifications (WPS).
• Completes weldments to the AWS code and blueprint requirements.
• Positions weldment details in location using fixtures, jigs, tape measure, square, rule, and caliper to meet blueprints and quality requirements.
• Observes and practices safety procedures and policies.
• Meet all Qualification requirements Per AWS D17.1/D17.1 (class A) including base metal groups and thickness for groove and fillet welds.
