Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an experienced press operator to set up and run automatic presses blanking friction material facings. You will manage high-volume production, adjust feeds and dies, program ink jet data, and perform thorough inspections to ensure quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic presses to blank friction material facings per procedures and controls.
• Produce on average 60,000 facings per machine per shift and switch between presses as needed.
• Adjust servo feeds for part numbers and press timing.
• Correct blanking pressure by adjusting counterbalance and ram height.
• Load, feed, and replace coil stock; ensure material flow.
• Program and align ink jet unit; verify part number data placement.
• Inspect first piece with gauges and obtain signoff on setups.
• Inspect throughout production to maintain critical dimensions and quality.
• Troubleshoot tooling and ink jet unit; replace worn parts and adjust dies.
• Notify Team Leader of problems and manage material handling when required.
• Grease pins, calibrate gauges, and process defective materials.
• Stock consumables daily and produce prototypes; maintain setup records.
