Job summary

Latitude Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and monitor 4-axis and 5-axis milling machines in a production/job-shop environment.

You will identify tools, fixtures, and workholding, perform presets and offsets, and verify programs against blueprints and GD&T specifications. The role requires hands-on capability with tool changes, machine calibration, and in-process inspection to ensure parts meet strict engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up 4-axis/5-axis CNC milling in production/job-shop.
• Proficient in tool identification, presetting, and offsets.
• Able to read blueprints and GD&T fundamentals.
• Experience loading and editing CNC programs and debugging as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision parts
• Identify, select, and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding
• Perform tool presetting, offsets, and tool length/radius adjustments
• Load and verify CNC programs; make minor program edits as needed
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and CNC setup sheets
• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to optimize quality and cycle times
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixtures, materials, or programs
• Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition
