Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is seeking a Precertification Coordinator to be the friendly face for patients, providers, and carriers across our network.

You will verify coverage, obtain pre-certifications prior to tests or procedures, and coordinate with insurance payers to keep scheduling timely while adhering to CPT and ICD-10 guidelines. TOA offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Understanding CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Prior Precertification experience.
• Knowledge of EHR/NextGen is a plus.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Identify errors in precert and test/surgery scheduling.
• Communicate with insurance payer reps, patients, and staff to ensure timely scheduling.
• Provide backup documentation to carriers (office notes, test reports).
• Obtain precertification/preauthorization from insurers.
• Manage patient insurance verification via multiple methods.
• Follow up on all submitted verifications/pre-certifications.
• Notify physicians regarding denials and approvals.
