Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to monitor DOT and owner inspections. You will verify prestressing operations, review strength records, and ensure PCI/DOT records meet certification requirements.

Level I inspectors will report to you. This role requires PCI Level II certification with 2+ years in a certified plant, knowledge of PCI MNL-116/117 and DOT specs, and preferred ACI strength

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and the DOT precast specifications for your state
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred
• Able to hold production line to the specification when the schedule is pushing

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records
• Accept or reject finished products against the specification and shop drawings; disposition repairs
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner acceptance programs
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records
