Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production or act as the owner/agency inspector for DOT and structural preliminaries. You will verify prestressing operations and review mix designs, strength records, and shop drawings, while maintaining PCI/DOT certifications.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II QC Certification with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specifications.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Ability to enforce production/inspection specifications under schedule pressure.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specification and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner acceptance programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.
• On owner/agency projects, serve as the outside eye ensuring decisions are well-documented.
