Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and strand records, run fresh concrete tests, and ensure finished pieces meet dimensional and quality standards before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I or ACI Grade I certification and a willingness to work early production hours, with travel between plants as needed for project assignments.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with 1+ years in a precast/prestressed plant.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Comfortable with early production schedules and plant hours.
• Honest and precise with test records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects and tag them for shipment or repair.
• Annotate records and communicate results to production and QC teams.
