Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant QC on precast and prestressed concrete, check forms and reinforcement, and verify strand tensioning records. The role requires PCI Level I or ACI Grade I certification with plant experience and involves early production hours with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I QC certification or ACI Grade I with 1+ year plant experience.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willing to work early production schedule and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
