Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, check forms and reinforcement before pours, verify strand tensioning records, and run fresh concrete tests. You will inspect finished pieces for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects before shipment, and pursue PCI Level I and ACI Field Testing Grade I certifications.

Travel to multiple plants and per diem may be required.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with 1+ years in a precast or prestressed plant.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willingness for early production schedule and plant hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects and tag for shipment or repair.

PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level I

ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I
