Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control for precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and tensioning records, run fresh concrete tests, and verify every step against shop drawings and specifications.

The role requires PCI Level I QC certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel between plants on project assignments. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level I or equivalent.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience qualifies to start.
• Ability to read shop drawings and interpret tensioning calculations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
