Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control, inspecting forms and reinforcement before pours, verifying strand records, running fresh concrete tests, casting cylinders, and inspecting finished pieces for dimensions before shipment. Qualifications

PCI Level I certification or equivalent ACI grade with precast experience.
Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations relevant to precast.
Comfortable with plant hours and early production schedules.
Consistent, careful, and honest with the numbers.

Responsibilities

Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record them to required values.
Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
