Job summary

Construction Material Testing is hiring a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control for precast and prestressed concrete. You will check forms, reinforcement, maintain strand-tension records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces before shipment.

Certification through PCI Level I or ACI Grade I is required or earned within months; travel to multiple plants is possible with per diem. Valid driver's license and early shift readiness are needed.

Qualifications

• PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level I, or ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with 1+ years in a precast or prestressed plant.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Comfortable with plant hours and an early production schedule.
• Consistent, careful, and honest with the numbers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31; perform stripping and release strength checks.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, defects; tag for shipment or repair.
