Job summary

Construction Material Testing is hiring a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will check forms and reinforcement, verify strand records, run concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I or ACI Grade I certification with plant experience, and the ability to work early shifts with occasional travel between plants for project assignments.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification, or must earn it within months.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with 1+ years in precast plants.
• Ability to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Reliable, precise with numbers and records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
