Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and strand tensioning, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and verify finished pieces meet shop drawings and specifications.

PCI Level I or ACI Grade I certification with plant experience is required; travel between plants and early shifts are expected as part of the role, with per diem where applicable.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with 1+ years in precast or prestressed plant.
• Ability to read shop drawings and perform tensioning calculations.
• Willingness to work early hours and travel between plants as required.
• Accurate, consistent, and honest with numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects.
• Tag products for shipment or repair after inspection.
