Job summary

Sioux Center Health is seeking a Preadmissions Representative to schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures, and to secure prior authorizations from insurers. You will determine eligibility, communicate with physicians and staff, and guide patients through the scheduling process within a caring Christian environment.

The role requires a nursing degree (LPN/RN) and knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding, with strong computer skills and a willingness to learn LCD processes.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge in ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
• General computer knowledge required.
• Bi-lingual experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• The Preadmissions Representative schedules appointments, surgeries and procedures for patients as directed by physicians.
• Determines eligibility for payors by facilitating LCDs and obtaining prior authorizations from insurers.
• Documents prior authorizations and communicates information to facilities, physicians, clinic staff, patients and families as necessary.
• Maintains scheduling processes and coordinates plans of care with applicable entities.
• Educates patients prior to procedures or tests according to established guidelines.
• Performs general clerical duties including ordering supplies, answering phones, greeting patients, and relaying messages.
