Job summary

Suquamish Tribal Court is seeking a Pre-Trial Services Officer to interview defendants, write reports, and make release recommendations. The role supervises defendants on pretrial release, ensuring compliance and appearance at court events, in collaboration with probation, support specialists, and other partners.

Essential duties include preparing court reports, verifying information, conducting risk assessments, monitoring compliance, administering testing, and managing case data with court

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of experience and education.
• Two years’ probation, counseling, or defendant interviewing experience.
• Two years’ discretionary judgment with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Interview defendants and complete screening forms; recommend release conditions.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to the court; monitor compliance with release terms.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing as required by the court order.
• Operate case management software and geo-location tools; maintain current records.
• Submit reports to Court and counsel; testify on compliance and release criteria.
