Pre-Sales Systems Engineer- Public Sector

We are currently looking for a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support our public sector business. This position is a United States Remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical support for Database Management solutions, collaborating with Account Managers to assist key customers with mission-critical systems across diverse platforms.
• Train and coach Sales Representatives on federal GTM messaging and new product offerings.
• Maintain communication with sales teams regarding key deals and product updates.
• Stay updated on industry trends, customer expectations, and competitors.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, conducting web demos, onsite engagements, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
• Assess customer needs and determine appropriate technical solutions.
• Develop expertise in Quest products through training and courses.
• Handle documentation such as Customer Project Pages, Engagement Plans, and RFP responses.
• Deliver product demonstrations, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Provide expertise in database management, optimization, and tuning.
• Build and maintain relationships with technical decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with databases and DBMS.
• 3 to 5 years of pre-sales technical experience.
• TOAD experience is a plus but not required.
• Proven ability to manage procurement activities and customer inquiries.
• Experience in pre-sales and customer-facing technical services.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid passport.
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally.
• Ability to support federal organizational goals and long-term business objectives.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Excellent presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to engage with customers and articulate technical concepts effectively.
• Experience administering Java application servers and database platforms.

Technical Knowledge

• System administration or consulting experience with databases.
• Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, or other RDBMS platforms.
• Architectural knowledge of various technologies: LAMP stacks, webservers, Java, .Net, SAP, VMware, etc., is a plus.
• Proficiency with Linux, Unix, and Windows OS platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools.
