Job summary

Cedarhillregional in Washington, DC is seeking a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (Pre-Op RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care prior to surgical or procedural interventions. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, preparing patients for surgery, and collaborating with surgical teams while ensuring patient safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care, surgical, or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive preoperative patient assessments.
• Verify surgical consent forms and physician orders.
• Prepare patients for surgery and educate them.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
