Qualifikationen

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Ability to make sound decisions utilizing nursing judgment.
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the department.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Aufgaben

• Prepare patients for surgery according to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and ensure required documentation is completed accurately.
• Verify patients meet all admission and surgical readiness requirements prior to procedure.
• Educate patients and families regarding the surgical process, expected outcomes, and post-operative instructions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications, anesthesia-related considerations, and potential patient responses.
• Recognize and respond quickly to emergency situations using established protocols, physician orders, ACLS/PALS guidelines, and facility policies.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain competency in clinical skills and evidence-based nursing practices.
• Support pain management initiatives and provide nursing care consistent with current standards of practice.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Adhere to all hospital safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
