Job summary

Oklahoma Center for Orthopaedic Multi-Specialty Surgery in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Pre-Op Registered Nurse to prepare patients for surgery and deliver safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, opportunities to collaborate with physicians and anesthesia teams, and a strong emphasis on work-life balance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Oklahoma.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• ACLS and PALS certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Ability to make sound nursing judgments with strong clinical judgment.
• Strong communication and prioritization in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery according to policies and standards.
• Perform pre-operative assessments and documentation.
• Verify readiness for admission and surgery.
• Educate patients and families about the surgical process and post-op instructions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications and anesthesia considerations.
• Respond to emergencies per ACLS/PALS guidelines and facility policies.
• Document assessments and outcomes in the EMR.
• Maintain competency in nursing practices and pain management.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the healthcare team.
• Adhere to hospital safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
