Job summary

USPI Doctors United Surgery Center is seeking a motivated PreOp Registered Nurse to join our team. The PreOp RN provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies in the perioperative setting.

Position requires weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or call, with some later evenings required. Experience in Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, and Urology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted state license.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have at least 1–3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU.
• Previous ambulatory surgical center experience strongly preferred.
• Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing patient condition.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care using the nursing process and plan of care.
• Deliver safe, patient-family centered perioperative care across all patient populations.
• Support the mission and policies of the perioperative services department.
• Report to the Manager of Peri-operative Services.
