Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pre-OP Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care. Responsibilities include patient and family education, mentoring, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure safe perioperative care.

This part-time role (24 hrs/week) features 2 rotating 12-hour shifts (6a–6:30p), on-call weekends and holidays, and a pay range of $37.00–$55.00 per hour;

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Surgical/Pre-OP or PACU experience strongly preferred.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while seeking to advance knowledge and skills through guidance from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.
