Job summary

Adventist Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre-Op Holding department in Rockville, MD. This part-time, day shift role is ideal for new graduates who want to develop their skills in a supportive environment.

You will educate patients and families, mentor team members, and deliver care according to ANA standards while using equipment safely and identifying changes in patient condition for timely action. BLS is required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty.

What You'll Do

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; PACU or Critical Care experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area
