Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Nurse Manager for PACU & Pre-operative Services to operationalize the department's strategic plan and ensure safe, patient-centered care. The role includes mentoring staff, upholding professional standards, and leading performance improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing baccalaureate, may have a master’s degree, and has prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Three years of work experience in department-specific area.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Leadership certification within 1 year of eligibility.
• Participation in professional organizations.

Responsibilities

• Role-model professionalism and standards; mentor and evaluate staff.
• Operationalize the department's strategic plan and ensure safe, patient-centered care.
• Oversee staff performance, competency, and professional growth; conduct reviews.
• Lead service recovery, address complaints and near misses; drive improvements.
• Promote cohesive teams and effective conflict resolution within the department and organization.
• Identify and allocate resources (labor, equipment, facilities) for safe patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
