Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre-op/PACU per diem role in Goodyear, AZ. You will administer sedation and analgesia per physician orders and monitor patients through pre- and post-operative phases.

Responsibilities include thorough assessments, patient transfer from OR to ICU/Med Surg, and caring for complex patients with fragile hemodynamics. A current AZ RN license and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in preop and PACU.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Arizona RN License or Compact State license required.
• BLS certification required on hire; ACLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Administers and monitors sedation/analgesia per physician order.
• Assess pre/postoperative neurological, cardiac and respiratory status.
• Transferring patients from OR to ICU/Med Surg and documenting care.
• Care for complex patients including hemodynamically compromised cases.
• Administer medications via the 6 rights and monitor for side effects.
