Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery in Nashville is seeking a Pre-Op PACU RN for night shifts to ensure high-quality perioperative care. You will implement the Pre-Op nursing assessment and PACU care plan, coordinate with the care team, and monitor patients for safety and comfort.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program with TN nursing license, CPR/ACLS certs, and strong communication and teaching abilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Tennessee Nursing License.
• CPR and ACLS certifications required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good organizational habits.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly.
• Understanding principles of aseptic technique and implementation.
• Ability to care for patients from one year to geriatrics.
• Excellent teaching skills.
• Basic knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement ideology.

Responsibilities

• Implement Pre-Op Nursing Assessment and Post-Anesthesia Care record.
• Follow physician orders and ensure continuity and quality of nursing care.
• Maintain patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks and sterile technique as needed.
