Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery is seeking a Pre-Op PACU RN for night shift to join a high-performing clinical team in Nashville. You will implement nursing assessments, manage post-anesthesia care, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality patient care throughout perioperative stages.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Tennessee Nursing License.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good organization habits.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly and apply a strong surgical knowledge base.
• Understanding of aseptic technique and its implementation.
• Ability to care for patients from 1 year to geriatrics.
• Excellent teaching skills.
• Basic knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).

Responsibilities

• Implement the Pre-Op nursing assessment and Post-Anesthesia Care record.
• Carry out physician orders and ensure continuity and quality of nursing care.
• Evaluate patient condition continuously, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks and conscious sedation as needed.
