Job summary

North Shore Surgical Suites seeks a Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse to deliver continuous and quality perioperative care from pre-op through PACU. You will monitor patients, ensure safety and comfort, and support the surgical team in ambulatory procedures.

Requirements include RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and a minimum of 2 years in Pre Op PACU or related units; strong nursing judgment and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Minimum 2 years experience in Pre Op PACU, Med/Surg or Critical Care
• Ambulatory surgical setting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation

• Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy in perioperative services

Pre Op PACU RN

The Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. The Pre Op PACU RN Registered Nurse provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The Pre Op PACU RN provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The Pre Op PACU RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The Pre Op PACU RN reports to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre Op PACU, Med/Surg or Critical Care. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
