Job summary

Fish Pond Surgery Center is seeking a RN PreOp/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients before and after surgery, including recovery from anesthesia. The role may involve assisting physicians with procedures and maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period.

The position requires a nursing degree, active RN license in Alabama, and BLS/ACLS (PALS if required).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with ongoing assessment of condition and safety.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique.
• Deliver total care to patients emerging from anesthesia/sedation: assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and prepare for discharge.

Fish Pond Surgery Center is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU

Welcome to Fish Pond Surgery Center

We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Plastics, Podiatry, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Fish Pond Surgery Center

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
