Job summary

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center seeks a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to care for surgical patients in immediate post-operative flow. You will manage airway, monitor neurological and cardiac status, and provide initial wound care while coordinating with the surgical and anesthesia teams.

Schedule includes weekend shifts with on-call availability during select non-business hours. Strong teamwork and communication are essential to ensure safe, high-quality patient recovery.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Pre-op, PACU, or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Active RN license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.
• ACLS/BCLS/NIH Stroke Scale/PALS certifications within required timeframes.
• Meditech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in post-operative recovery.
• Monitor airway, neuro and cardiac status; respond to complications.
• Provide initial wound care and ensure patient stability during recovery.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams; participate in on-call rotations.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and follow-up.

Education

RN – Registered Nurse

Associate Degree

ACLS within 90 days

BCLS within 30 days

NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days

PALS within 6 months

Meditech experience preferred
