Job summary

Lloyd Baker Injury Attorneys is expanding its Phoenix office and seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney to own cases from evaluation to settlement. You will work directly with clients, review medical records and reports, and negotiate for strong compensation while maintaining ethical, client-first service.

Ideal candidates have a J.D., Arizona bar, 1–3 years of plaintiff-side PI experience, and a solid grasp of Arizona law, with excellent writing and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and Arizona bar in good standing.
• 1–3 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience.
• Solid knowledge of Arizona personal injury law and procedures.
• Strong negotiation, writing, and client communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management with a high-volume caseload.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and build cases from evaluation through settlement.
• Negotiate with insurance adjusters and counsel for maximum value.
• Draft demands, settlement agreements, and other documents.
• Collaborate with medical experts, economists, and accident reconstructionists.
• Explain rights and options clearly to clients and provide updates.
• Research Arizona personal injury law and stay current on developments.
• Maintain organized docket and meet deadlines in a high-volume caseload.
• Support litigation handoffs and assist at settlement conferences.

We're growing our Phoenix team and looking for a Pre-Litigation Attorney who wants to resolve cases, not just process them. You'll own a caseload from evaluation through settlement and work directly with clients when they need someone in their corner most.

What you'll do

• Evaluate and build cases.Review medical records, police reports, and liability evidence to assess case value and decide on strategy early.
• Advocate for clients.Negotiate with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel to get the most compensation possible, without unnecessary delay.
• Write persuasive demands.Draft demand packages, settlement agreements, and other legal documents that present each client's story and damages clearly.
• Work with experts.Partner with medical providers, accident reconstructionists, and economists to strengthen liability and damages.
• Guide and update clients.Explain clients' rights and options in plain language, give them proactive updates, and respond quickly to their questions.
• Stay sharp on the law.Research Arizona personal injury law, insurance coverage questions, and new developments that affect case strategy.
• Run an organized docket.Keep complete, accurate files and handle a high-volume caseload without missing deadlines.
• Work closely with litigation.Prepare thorough handoffs for cases headed to suit, and support settlement conferences when needed.

What you bring

Required

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active license with the State Bar of Arizona, in good standing
• 1–3 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience
• Solid knowledge of Arizona personal injury law, procedure, and insurance practices
• Strong negotiation skills and a record of resolving claims well
• Clear, confident writing and speaking with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
• Excellent organization and time management with a high-volume caseload
• Comfort with legal research tools and case management software

Preferred

• Trial experience and a record of successful verdicts or settlements
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
