Job summary

Thompson Law in Phoenix seeks an experienced attorney to lead both pre-litigation and litigation matters in a fast-paced team. You will manage the full lifecycle of personal injury cases, draft documents, conduct depositions, and negotiate settlements while mentoring paralegals and staff.

Qualified candidates have 4–6+ years of PI litigation, a JD and AZ Bar, excellent communication, and a client-first approach. The firm emphasizes compassionate client service and strong outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active AZ State Bar status (or ability to become licensed in AZ soon).
• 4–6+ years of litigation experience, with at least 3+ years in personal injury.
• Experience managing a litigation caseload from intake through resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, settlements, mediations, and trial prep.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and compassionately.
• Comfortable in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while owning cases and driving them forward independently.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to mentor paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff.
• Client-focused mindset with commitment to delivering exceptional service and results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-litigation and litigation matters with growing Phoenix docket.
• Manage cases from intake through resolution, including discovery and motions.
• Draft pleadings, conduct depositions, negotiate settlements, and prepare for mediations and trial.
• Mentor and collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain clear, compassionate communication with clients and build trust during challenging times.

• 4 - 6+ years of litigation experience, with at least 3+ years of personal injury-related experience.
• Experience managing a litigation caseload from intake through resolution, including drafting pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters to clients in a clear, compassionate manner.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while taking ownership of cases and driving them forward independently.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively partner with and mentor paralegals, legal assistants, and other support staff.
• Client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and achieving outstanding results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal injury litigation experience representing plaintiffs.
• Deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial experience.
• Experience independently managing a high-volume litigation caseload.
• Proven record of obtaining favorable settlements and verdicts.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with Arizona courts, judges, and local rules.
