Bachus & Schanker, LLC is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Attorney to work directly with one of our founding partners in handling the partner’s direct-referral and high-value personal injury cases.

This is an important role within our firm. Many of these clients come to Bachus & Schanker through direct relationships and referrals to a founding partner, and we are looking for an attorney who understands the level of legal judgment, responsiveness, and personal attention those relationships require.

The ideal individual is an experienced personal injury attorney who genuinely enjoys pre-litigation practice, including developing cases, working closely with clients, analyzing liability and damages, identifying all available sources of recovery, negotiating with insurance carriers, and helping injured clients navigate what can be one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

You will work closely with a founding partner while managing a portfolio of general negligence personal injury matters, including direct-referral cases and significant injury claims.

As part of this role, you will personally connect with prospective clients and help guide them through the initial stages of working with our firm. This includes conducting new client intakes and consultations by telephone, Zoom, and, when appropriate, in person. You should be comfortable speaking directly with prospective clients, evaluating potential claims, answering questions, and creating a strong client experience from the very first interaction with the Firm.

What You Will Do

As a Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney working with one of our founding partners, you will:

• Manage direct-referral and high-value personal injury cases from intake through pre-litigation resolution
• Conduct prospective client intakes and consultations by telephone, Zoom, and, as needed, in person (client calls and intakes may be outside of normal business hours and may necessitate weekend or evening calls).
• Work directly with a founding partner on case strategy, evaluation, and resolution
• Develop strong relationships with clients and provide the high level of personal attention and responsiveness expected for direct-referral matters
• Evaluate liability, causation, damages, insurance coverage, and available sources of recovery
• Develop cases strategically to maximize their value and position them for successful resolution
• Work closely with case managers, investigators, medical providers, experts, and other members of the legal team
• Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense representatives to obtain appropriate resolutions for clients
• Identify cases that should proceed to litigation and work with our litigation attorneys to ensure a strong transition when litigation is necessary
• Maintain proactive and consistent communication with clients throughout the life of their case
• Provide compassionate, practical guidance to injured clients and their families

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an attorney who combines strong personal injury experience with exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will have:

• At least three years of personal injury experience, with meaningful experience handling pre-litigation personal injury matters
• Strong knowledge of Colorado personal injury law and insurance claims
• Experience evaluating liability, damages, insurance coverage, and case value
• The ability to independently manage significant personal injury matters while collaborating closely with a founding partner
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• A genuine commitment to helping injured clients and providing an exceptional client experience
• Strong judgment, organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail
• The professionalism and interpersonal skills necessary to represent the firm and maintain important referral relationships

This role is particularly well suited for an attorney who enjoys the strategy and client relationships involved in pre-litigation personal injury practice and wants to handle meaningful cases as part of an experienced and highly collaborative team.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range: $125,000-$150,000+, including base salary and commission.
