Smart Start of Mecklenburg County is seeking a MECK Pre-K Success Coach based in Charlotte to work with childcare center administrators and MECK Pre-K staff to support state and county standards in high-quality early childhood instruction. Qualifications

• Education: BA/BS in early childhood field; advanced degree preferred.
• Licensure: NC BK/Pre-K Add-on; CLASS Pre-K certification desired.
• Experience: 5 years as lead Pre-K teacher using Creative Curriculum and TS Gold.
• Leadership: 3–5 years in progressively responsible early education roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and leadership to MECK Pre-K teachers.
• Observe teaching and give actionable feedback on instruction and interactions.
• Guide developmentally appropriate pedagogy, planning, assessment and family/community relations.
• Coordinate professional development with MECK Pre-K staff and managers.
• Maintain regular conferences with teachers and site administration.
• Document coaching, track progress, and report coaching outcomes.

Education

BA/BS in early childhood education or related field

NC BK/Pre-K Add-on License (SP II / Continuing)

CLASS Pre-K Certification

5 years lead Pre-K teaching experience

3–5 years leadership experience in early education
