Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a SPED Para II - Pre K Title I to support the instructional program under a classroom teacher's direction. The role includes assisting in supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in regular or self-contained classrooms, and helping implement IEP goals.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, providing basic first aid, assisting with self-care, collecting data, and maintaining materials and records.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ years old.
• Associates degree or 60 quarter/48 semester hours or para pro Praxis test.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities under supervision to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers first aid and basic health support.
• Assists students with self-care and daily living activities.
• Attends trainings to acquire job-related knowledge.
• Collects data to support teachers and prepare reports.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress.
• Implements behavioral plans under supervision to support learning.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for mandatories.
• Monitors students to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Provides instruction in group or individual activities to reinforce concepts.
