Job summary

Alpine School District in Canyon View is seeking a SPED Para II Lifeskills educator to support students with special needs under the supervision of a classroom teacher. The position is non-contract, about 6.5 hours per day (29 hours per week) with an hourly rate of $17.58.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, data collection, implementing IEP plans, monitoring behavior, and assisting with self-care and classroom routines.

Qualifications

• First aid knowledge may be required.
• Experience collecting data to support instructional planning.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under supervising teacher guidance to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Attends trainings related to first aid, behavior management, etc.
• Collects data to support teachers and prepare reports.
• Communicates with supervising staff regarding progress and IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team.
• Maintains instructional materials and records.
• Monitors students in various school environments to ensure safety.
• Provides instruction in multiple activities to reinforce objectives and IEP plans.
• Attends meetings and trainings for job functions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
