Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a part-time paraeducator to assist under direct supervision of certified teachers in monitoring and instructing special education students implementing IEPs. You will support learning activities, health care routines, and administrative tasks to ensure effective classroom operations.

Responsibilities include delivering targeted instruction, aiding in materials development, collecting progress data, and helping with curriculum adaptations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• 6 months experience with preschool children

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group instruction aligned to student IEP goals under teacher direction
• Assist in development of instructional materials and maintenance of the classroom
• Monitor data related to academic and behavioral goals using district tools
• Assist in modifying curriculum to meet individual learning needs
• Implement positive behavior support plans and respond to challenging behaviors
• Support students with personal care and mobility needs as required
• Assist with general clerical tasks to support the teacher and district records

Education
