Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks multiple Pre-K Special Ed Education Technicians to provide classroom support across district elementary schools, including Presumpscot, Rowe, Talbot, and Longfellow. You will assist in creating a developmentally appropriate environment and support the Pre-K teacher under PPS supervision.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of Maine Early Learning Development Standards, Pre-K curricula, and engage with families with equity and high expectations.

Qualifications

• Maine Ed Tech III (023) authorization required.
• CHRC authorization (or eligible) – if Ed Tech cert is active, CHRC not needed.
• ESSA authorization required within first year of hire.
• Level 4 status on Maine Roads to Quality Registry within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated classroom support to Pre-K programs.
• Assist Pre-K teacher to build student readiness and a positive learning environment.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as required.
• Collaborate with families and contribute to PPS community initiatives.
