Job summary

South Portland School Department is seeking Educational Technicians to support PreK students at Dyer and Small Elementary Schools. The role focuses on academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development through the PreK for ME curriculum.

This is a 35-hour per week, on-site position at Dyer and Small Schools, emphasizing collaboration with the PreK teacher, families, and the district PreK team to foster growth and learning in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in PreK is preferred.
• Ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the PreK teacher to support implementation of the PreK for ME curriculum.
• Support students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth.
• Assist with classroom routines, small group instruction, and individualized student support.
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with members of the district PreK team and related service providers.
• Attend professional development and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
