Job summary

Sumter School District Pocalla Springs Elementary in Sumter, SC seeks an Instructional Paraprofessional for Pre-K to support a positive learning environment and assist with reading and mathematics instruction.

Qualifications

• Applicants must possess an Associate's or higher degree.
• Completion of 60 credit hours toward a degree program.
• Passing score on the Praxis Para Pro exam or an equivalent assessment.
• Minimum of three years of experience in an elementary school setting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive learning environment under the direction of the certified teacher.
• Assist with daily instructional activities aligned with grade-level practices and district mission.
• Collaborate with teachers on curricular planning and accommodations for students.
• Provide individualized instruction to identified students and small groups in reading and math.
• Help track and report student progress to inform interventions.
• Support a safe, respectful learning environment and teamwork.
