Job summary

Sumter School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for RE Davis College Prep in Sumter, SC. The instructional paraprofessional will support teachers with reading and math interventions, helping create a positive learning environment and implementing district practices.

The position requires an Associate's degree or higher or 60 college credits, or a passing Praxis Para Pro/WorkKeys score, with 3 years of elementary school experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher; 60 credit hours toward a degree; or Praxis Para Pro/WorkKeys or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of elementary school experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee a positive learning environment under the direction of a certified teacher.
• Provide individualized instruction to identified students and small groups in reading and mathematics.
• Assist in implementing daily learning experiences aligned with grade-level practices and district instructional mission.
• Collaborate with the teacher on curricular planning, classroom environment, and instructional practices.
• Help with accommodations for students and monitor progress through data retrieved for intervention effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or appropriate administrator.
