Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Pre-K to support teachers in General Education, Special Education, or Title I classrooms. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pursuing an Associate’s degree in birth-through-kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or related field or CDA credential.
• For Title I schools, meet ESSA employment requirements (Public Law 114-95).
• Instructional assistants working toward an associate degree shall progress by completing at least six documented semester hours per year.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities and classroom management.
• Support individual students or groups in all curricular areas as directed by teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers to devise strategies related to childcare licensure requirements where applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information under FERPA and related laws.
• Coordinate with staff to prepare materials and manage classroom resources.
• Assist with documentation, reports, and administrative tasks while ensuring student safety.
