Job summary

Wake County Public School System is hiring an Instructional Assistant-Pre-K Blended to support teachers in general education, special education, or Title I classrooms. The role involves assisting students, planning with teachers, and maintaining a safe, caring environment across multiple Pre-K settings.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and progress toward an Associate degree in early childhood education or a CDA credential is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; pursuing an Associate degree in birth-through-kindergarten or related field; six semester hours per year if pursuing Associate degree; and/or CDA credential.
• For Title I schools, comply with ESSA requirements and related state rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities and classroom management.
• Support individual students or small groups in pre-K curriculum areas.
• Plan with teachers and adapt strategies for childcare licensure where applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required records and reports.
• Coordinate with staff to support health and safety and CPI procedures.
• Collaborate with parents, staff, and community partners as needed.
