Job summary

Arlington Central School District in Lagrangeville, NY seeks a Pre-K Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program for the 2026–2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon shifts (7:00–9:15 am; 2:15–5:00 pm).

This part-time, non-exempt position supports children ages 5–12, delivering Safe, structured activities under the Healthy Kids Curriculum and collaborating with families and school staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Required health clearance, TB screening, per state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, art, and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines and program/host school policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
