Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Programs for the 2026–2027 school year, with morning and/or afternoon shifts. The position offers a $16.00 per hour pay rate and follows the school calendar, aligning with East Coldenham and Little Britian Elementary Schools in Newburgh, NY, and 565 Union Avenue in New Windsor, NY.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
