Job summary

The Growing Years of Clayton is seeking Assistant Teachers to support the Pre-K program and help develop children’s emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical skills. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and reliability in background checks, with a preference for prior childcare experience.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package as described by the center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ECE credentials or 6 ECE credits preferred.
• Ability to pass all background checks.
• Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the center's goals.
• Implement activities that support emotional, social, cognitive, creative and physical development.
• Take direction, accept feedback, and make improvements for program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work with young children and lift up to 40 lbs.
