Job summary

The Growing Years of Clayton, a licensed childcare center, is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Preschool and Pre-K. The role requires a high school diploma or ECE credentials (or 6 ECE credits) and the ability to pass background checks. Prior childcare experience is a plus.

Typical shifts run Monday–Friday with various 9:00am–6:00pm style windows. Compensation is $15–$16.50 per hour, based on education and experience, with benefits and professional development opportunities offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in alignment with the center's philosophy and goals.
• Implement activities that support growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Receive direction, accept feedback, and make improvements to enhance program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Meet physical demands of working with young children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as needed.

The Growing Years of Clayton is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the following age groups:

• Preschool
• Pre-K

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma, completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm OR 8:30am - 5:30pm OR 8:45am - 5:45pm

Compensation: $15-16.50/hr, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
