Job summary

The Growing Years in Clayton, NC is seeking Assistant Teachers to support Pre-K students. The role requires a high school diploma and completion of early childhood credentials or 6 ECE credits, with background checks. Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits in ECE courses or equivalent is required.
• Ability to pass all background checks is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom activities in line with the center's philosophy and goals.
• Implement activities that promote emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction well, accept constructive criticism, and implement improvements as needed to enhance program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around young children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as needed.
