Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is hiring an assistant teacher in New Jersey who is passionate about nurturing children, building community connections, and having fun.

You will assist in planning engaging curricula and create a safe, supportive environment for kids and families. Requirements include a CDA credential or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and 2 years (2500 hours) of childcare experience in NJ. Qualifications

• Either a CDA credential or an Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years (2500 hours) of verified childcare experience and all NJ educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
